16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?
Unique human capital includes:
- Self awareness
- Creative
- Realistic
- Social skills
- Intelligence
Interview 1
In one interview I was told that one thing that made me different was my self awareness. In entrepreneurship self awareness is a key characteristic, as it allows you to understand yourself relative to other people.
Interview 2
I was told in this interview that I was creative. Creativity is an important part of entrepreneurship as it allows you to think of things that other people wouldn't.
Interview 3
In another interview I was told that I was realistic. What the interviewee thought was good about this quality was that it allows you to not be overly optimistic and waste your time on ideas that won't ultimately come to fruition.
Interview 4
Another interviewee said that my social skills were good. In entrepreneurship, this is an important skill as it allows you to get on the good side of other people. If you were to annoy people and not be sharp in this skill, it's likely people wouldn't tolerate you or take your ideas seriously.
Interview 5
The last quality is intelligence. It's important to have this to come up with unique ideas and to be able to execute them.
Reflection
The findings from my interviews are in line with the qualities that I identified for myself. Because of how realistic I am with myself, I think I was able to identify human capital similar to what people who know me well would see in me.

Hi Michael, it seems like you are very reflective of yourself and that is amazing! I wish there were links to the interviews. I also got some aspects that I knew I saw in myself and others saw in me too. It is interesting to get something you did not know, it could also help you grow a lot as a person. Good job!
ReplyDeleteHey Michael,
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the characteristics of unique human capital that you chose to describe yourself. I feel too that I have certain social skills and can also be quite creative at times. All of the characteristics that people described you as are very necessary in order to be successful in entrepreneurship. Being both intelligent and self aware are very important qualities for a person to have.
Hey Michael, I think you included great examples of human capital. I think self awareness is very important in terms of knowing your weaknesses and strengths and being able to adjust what your doing to maximize your strengths. Being realistic is also a great quality. It allows you to know your limits and not stretch yourself out too far.
