15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Findings

I was able to identify a few alternatives from the interviews I conducted. Based on the unmet need I described, the people I interviewed thought about rearranging the current gym layout, rather than building a whole new facility. As far as funding the solution goes, this method would be much more cost efficient. The people I interviewed also brought up the idea of gym reservations. This would allow students to schedule a time frame that they would go the gym, which would solve the problem of over population. While this is also more cost effective than the proposed idea of building a new facility, the downside with this method is that it provides students with a large lack of flexibility when it comes to when they get their exercise in.

Conclusions

Based on my interviews, I found a few different solutions to my unmet need, but still largely lean towards the idea I originally proposed. While my initial idea was one of the more expensive options, It solves the most problems while creating the least number of issues.

  1. Hey Michael,
I really like how the interviews you conducted helped you to find valid solutions in getting the fitness center started. Your interviewees also seemed to give good feedback and even gave advice on what they would like to see within the fitness center. I really like the idea of gym reservations. This would really help people decide when to come work out and encourage them to come as well as help reduce the amount of people in the gym at one time.

  2. Hey Michael, I like the analysis of the potential alternative methods to solving the issue. I think the idea of reserving gym times is ultimately a bad one. I feel like most students wouldn't go out of there way to go online and reserve a gym session, especially since a lot of people dont schedule their gym sessions out, and just go when they can. As a result, I think your method of actually building another gym would be the best one.
