21A – Reading Reflection No. 2

For my second reading reflection, I read The Art of Social Media: Power Tips for Power Users by Guy Kawasaki.

The book argued how to fully utilize and tap into the power that social media offers.

The book connected with course material for ENT 3003 in many ways. One of the main ways in which it connected with the course was by encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset. It is emphasized that in order to grow your social media page, you must demonstrate creativity and willingness to connect with other users.

The exercise would involve social media users reaching out to leaders in their industry. Successfully getting in contact with one of these individuals would allow the student to learn more about any of their entrepreneurial ideas. It would be a great learning experience for the student.

The biggest surprise moment for me was when the author went over just how powerful of a tool social media can be.

  1. Hey Michael, I think a lot of people don't realize how powerful social media really is. If you are deliberately trying to grow a social media page, it really is simply being as relatable as possible and making sure other users connect with you. I've tried to start instagram pages in the past and have honestly found it much more difficult than I expected.
