30A – Final Reflection

1) It was a fun experience going through all of my posts from this semester. Going back to the very first assignment, writing the bug list feels like it was very long time ago. It was fun looking back at my ideas and seeing how the progressed throughout the semester.

2) The most informative experience was any post that involved interviewing an industry expert. I'll remember what I learned from these interviews years into the future. The most joyous experiences were the elevator pitches. Im most proud of improving my elevator pitch.

3) I don't see myself as a full on entrepreneur yet, but I don't think it's realistic for anyone to learn everything they need to know about a given topic in one semester. This class got me interested in entrepreneurship, and it's now something that I'll get better at throughout time.

4) I would tell students that are taking this class in the future to stay on top of deadlines. This course has a lot of assignments, but the deadlines are clear, and it's easy to succeed if you're organized and follow them.

    Hi Michael, I relate to your statement about not feeling like a full time entrepreneur yet. It will take some time to fully grasp that concept. In fact, it takes some people years to understand what it takes to be successful. I also put this same thing in my final reflection about deadlines. This class has a lot of deadlines and it can be stressful or easily forgotten. I hope you had a great semester! Good luck in the spring!

29A – Venture Concept No. 2

1) My venture concept is to open a new gym facility that's accessible to college students in the Gainesville, Florida area. My concept is a great opportunity due to the limited options students have when it comes to selecting a facility. Currently, there's only one main gym, Southwest Recreation Center, and it's always packed due to the number of students trying to use it. This disincentives exercise and makes the whole workout experience unenjoyable as there's always people close to you and you always have to wait an unreasonable amount of time for equipment. If a new facility was created, students would flock to it in an attempt to avoid the crowds that come along with the current facility, and the venture would experience great success. 4A – Forming An Opportunity Belief

Beginning point  I believe there is an opportunity for more gym space at the University of Florida Describe your belief The unmet need at this university is excess weight room space. Students at this university have this unmet need, as they experience long lines and crowded spaces whenever they use the limited weight room space available. The need has come from a combination of a growing student population and a fixed amount of weight room space. In an attempt to meet this need now, students are trying to go to the gym during times of the day where its least crowded, at the expense of having the freedom to go whenever they want.
